The internet is truly filled with stories that will either inspire you. In fact, I have here another story that will surely inspire to continue chasing your dreams.
A woman named Grace Labradoe Bacus inspired everyone with her story.
Grace Labradoe Bacus is a former house helper who fought really hard in life just so she could reach her dreams.
The former house helper came from a simple family. Growing up, she knew that her parents aren’t financially capable of sending her to school. What makes it even more impossible for her to reach her dreams is the fact that she has eight other siblings who need to be sent to school as well.
Grace has hardworking parents. Her father has been working really hard to provide their needs. However, life’s really tough for them. The money that her father earns from working is only enough to ease their hunger.
Right after she finished high school, Grace immediately thought of working as a house helper. In that way, she will be able to earn and save money that could send her to college.
At the age of 26, Grace finally had enough money to send her to school. She decided to go back to school and continue to reach for the stars.
Grace took Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English in Talisay City college.
Despite being able to return to school, life didn’t become easier. While studying and taking care of her needs, Grace also has to look after her children since both her parents are working.
Their current situation has resulted to Grace’s absences in school. The situation became worse when one of her instructors advised her to quit school and take care of her siblings instead.
“You’d better quit school because you don’t need a degree to take care of children.”
Some people would probably give up after hearing those words, but Grace didn’t. She chose to use it as an inspiration. After hearing those words, Grace worked harder.
“Yes, word for word, I could still hear you say that. It was engraved in my heart. That the person I expected to understand me was the same person who broke me into pieces for she was supposedly my ADVISER, my second parent,” She wrote on her Facebook page.
Grace promised herself that she would never do the same thing to her students in the future. Instead, she wanted to be their inspiration to reach their dreams.
Despite being treated badly, Grace still managed to reach her dreams. Soon enough, Grace finally finished college with flying colors. She graduated as the Magna Cum Laude.
