Inulan Ng Sari-Saring Komento Ang Paggawa Ng Parody Sa Batang Sinaktan Ni Berna

Violence should never be an option in most situations. Not only does it bring harm to people, but it also causes trauma to them in the long run. Recently, we witnessed one of the most unacceptable instances of it which involved a stepmother physically mistreating a 3-year old child. This instantly went viral all over social media. Lately, another video is starting to make noise on the internet. This time around, it shows a parody of the mentioned incident.

Though meant for humorous purposes, the video posted got a lot of negative reactions from netizens. On the Facebook page called “Hashtag MJ”, we see one of its administrators reenacting the original video of the child mistreatment incident. As the video goes, we can see that the person who was acting as “Baby MJ”, the child victim had exaggerated “bruises” painted on with makeup around his eyes. We also see the same makeup on other parts of his body.

Behind the camera was an “interviewer” who was asking the questions about what happened. Next to the “child” was one of their friends acting as “Berna,” the accused stepmother. We could obviously tell that they were making a parody of the whole situation. The person acting as the child even imitated the way Baby MJ spoke in the original video.

“Berna Bog Bog!”

This was one thing that the actor kept on saying throughout the duration of the post. If you are not aware of the phrase, it was apparently what Baby MJ said when she was actually being interviewed. In English, it means “Berna physically mistreated me.”

Netizens shared their opinions after watching the clip. The comments section was made up of two groups. First, the ones that thought the post was funny and second, the ones who strongly voiced out that this was not a laughing matter. For me, I agree with the latter. The video was apparently originally recorded through Facebook live. Its recent statistics show 68 thousand plus reactions, 880 thousand shares, 3.9 million views.

I guess we could conclude that violence is really a serious matter. It is not an issue that should not be used for humorous purposes. We know that social media personalities will do anything to produce more content, but this just seemed to go overboard.

Despite this, it is still nice to see that a lot of netizens actually know that what the Facebook page did was wrong. Hopefully, the posters learn from this incident and start using their power on social media to spread something positive the next time that they put something up.
