Prior to her wedding day, Maxene Magalona has always been vocal about how much she wants her dad, the late rap icon Francis M to be present during the most special day of her life. On January 11, she exchanged vows with musician Rob Mananquil in a splendid outdoor ceremony at Shangri-La Boracay. Both of their closest friends and loved ones were there to celebrate their union as husband and wife.
Despite the fact that Francis M could no longer see her daughter walk down the aisle, Maxene Magalona had found ways to commemorate the memories of her deceased father and feel his presence. She attached a locket with a picture of him on her wedding bouquet. According to ABS-CBN, Saab Magalona also had the same locket on her wedding back in 2015.
Apart from that, instead of playing the traditional wedding theme song, the blushing bride approached the groom to the tune of “Girl Be Mine” – one of her late father’s hits.
The bride became emotional when she mentioned her late dad on her wedding vows.
An excerpt from her wedding vows reads:
“There isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t wish that you had met my dad. If he were here today, I just know how much he would love you.
The way you’re deeply passionate about your music was how he was with his; the way you love your dog Chewy was the way he loved his chihuahua; the way you love and take care of me was the way he loved and took care of my mom and our family. And as I stand before you in this special day, in front of family and friends, I say without a doubt that I know that papa is happy for you and me. I can feel it in my heart and soul that he loves you for the way that you love me.”
It was in 2009 when master rapper, Francis M died due to leukemia.
