Boracay will always hold a special place in the hearts of the Gomez family. Two days after the island was shut down, these beautiful throwback photos of Richard Gomez, Lucy Torres, and Juliana from 2005 surfaced. They show us just how much the family used to enjoy its world-famous white sand beaches.

These family photos were taken during the Holy Week break back in 2005. According to Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph), the crew of the defunct Hi! Magazine approached the Gomez family for a photo op, which they welcomed and gamely posed for.
Juliana was only four years old at the time, building sand castles with her parents just like any other kid.
Richard Gomez is known to be very fond of Boracay. In fact, it has been the venue for his golf tournament, the Goma Cup, ever since he started it in 1995.
Sadly, the Philippine government had to close down the famous island just last Thursday, April 26, for a six-month ‘clean-up’. However, there are speculations that this is a mere smokescreen for a casino project that the PAGCOR provisionally approved. The Palace has since insisted that there is no truth to these rumors.
