Earlier this week, Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin became a trending topic on social media. The 35-year-old actress was recently spotted in a church in Caloocan City while shooting for her online program. Many netizens couldn’t help but be concerned of Angel’s health, mainly because of her sudden weight gain.
Despite gaining a few pounds, Angel’s charisma and beauty has never changed. Indeed, many people were still starstruck to see her in public while taping for her program.
But some of her fans still expressed concern about the actress’ health. What could be the cause for her weight gain?

As you may well remember, it was way back in 2015 when Angel Locsin went under operation to fix a disc bulge in her spine. This condition is also her reason for declining the offer to portray “Darna” in the upcoming Erik Matti movie.
After her spine injury, Angel had to take medications to alleviate the pain.
“Noong bumalik ako ng workout, umiyak ako eh. Naramdaman ko ‘yung mga hindi ko na pwedeng gawin. Dati kasi feeling mo superhero ka talaga, kaya mong gawin lahat. Kailangan mong harapin na iba na. Hangga’t hindi mo natatanggap yon, hindi ka magmo-move forward kasi,” says Angel, explaining the struggles after her operation.
Apparently, among the side effects of her medications is weight gain. The actress doesn’t have a choice, since she cannot stop the medication or else it would greatly affect her day-to-day life.
Angel Locsin earned the title for the ‘Number 1 Sexiest Woman’ in the Philippines not once, but twice. She graced the cover of FHM many times.

That being said, despite this, fans have loved Angel not only for her physical attributes, but also for her kind and generous personality. Indeed, no matter what happens, she will still be the number 1 Darna for all Filipinos.
